Live & Learn

The Live & Learn series offers a variety presentations, workshops and activities for adults and young adults designed to broaden horizons and challenge minds.

Saturday, April 30th, 11 am @ Blanchard
Hippy Plant Hangers

Wow man….these are sooo cool! Enjoy a flash back and make your own macramé “hippy” plant hanger. Materials and instruction will be provided. Pot(s) and Patchouli will not. Contact the library to register.

Thursday May 12, 5:30 pm @ Priest River
Putting Our Waters to Work
Join historian and author Nancy Renk as she discusses the historic use of our local waterways over the centuries. How our lakes, rivers and smaller streams have been used for commerce, industries such as mining, timber, and ice, as well as transportation, power production, municipal use and tourism. Nancy will illustrate her talk with historic images provided by the Bonner County Historical Museum. For more information contact the library.

Saturday May 21st, 11 am @ Priest River
Melt and Pour Soap Making
Learn to make your own (easy) custom soaps using a melt and pour base, color and fragrance. Christa and Olivia will be teaching this simple method perfect for crafting, personal use or gift giving. Space will be limited to available supplies. Please contact the library to register.

Thursday, June 2nd 5:30 pm @ Priest River
From Past to Present:  The History and Culture of the Kalispel Tribe
Join Kalispel Tribe elder Francis Cullooyah as he talks about the history and culture of the Kalispel in the
Pend Oreille River region. This event will be held in the new library community room which has expanded capacity.

Saturday June 4th , 11am @ Blanchard
Kumihimo Braiding
Try your hand at this fun and unique way of braiding. Participants will create their own unique braid using cord and a kumihimo wheel. Open to ages 14 and up. Class size will be limited and registration is required.
