Live & Learn

The Live & Learn and Homemade Handcrafts classes offer a variety of presentations, workshops and activities for adults and young adults designed to broaden horizons, challenge minds and encourage self sufficiency. Open to ages 14 and up.

Glass Etching

Create your own one-of-a-kind glass art work using simple materials. Perfect for making a personalized gift…hint hint….Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. All materials will be provided. Open to ages 14 and up, and registration is required. Contact the library to register.

Cocoa Bombs

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, will be teaching a class on making delicious “cocoa bombs” so you can give homemade sweets to your sweetheart! All materials will be provided. Please register by contacting the library as space will be limited.

Please register by contacting the library as space will be limited. Please note the different time for this class. It will follow Stitchers and Chess at noon.

Basic Suture Class
Saturday February 25, 11am @
Priest River
Knowing how to suture wounds in an emergency is a valuable skill. We will be facilitating a suture class using medical school style suture practice kits. Each kit will cost approximately $38 and must be pre-paid by February 1st so we can order them from the supplier. The kits will be yours to keep and come with an e-book and how to videos online. Space in this class will be limited, please contact the library to register and reserve your kit. Open to ages 18 and up or 14 and up if accompanied by an adult.

Making something you love to wear or use is the basis of the DIY movement. In this class you will learn how to create one of a kind simple beaded earrings or “bobbles” to wear, use or give as gifts. Creative, fun and relatively inexpensive…what could be better! Contact the library to register.

Sprouting with Abby Lodmer

Join the always energetic Abby Lodmer for a class on the basics of sprouting. Learn about the health benefits of sprouting and how to grow your own (sprouts) using a mason jar or tray.

Hand Made Wooden Coasters
Saturday April 22nd, 11am @
Blanchard
Using wood slices as a canvas, anything goes! Burn it, paint it, carve it, or draw on it….your choice for your personal creation. Contact the library to register.

Our new Homemade Handcraft series will be featuring classes centered around DIY crafts and heritage skills. Open to young adults and adults ages 12 and up, each class will feature a craft, skill or lesson meant to foster self-reliance. Classes will be held periodically throughout the year.
